On 18th November 2017, India’s Manushi Chhillar won the Miss World 2017 crown at Sanya City Arena, China. India won the title of Miss World after the gap of 17 years. In 2000 Priyanka Chopra won Miss World title. Manushi Chhillar was presented the crown by Stephanie Del Valle, who was last year Miss World winner from Puerto Rico. Total 118 participants from all over world participated in this beauty pageant. Miss England Stephanie Hill was second runner up and  Miss Mexico Andrea Meza was first runner up. 20 years old Manushi Chhillar is a model and medical student. Both her mother and father are doctors by profession. Dancing, travelling, painting, singing and poetry are the hobbies of Manushi Chhillar. She won Femine Miss India 2017 on 25th June 2017.

After winning Miss World 2017 title by Manushi Chhillar, India is at the top with 6 times title holders sharing top position with Venezuela. After that United Kingdom is at number three with 5 times winners. Miss World is the one of the oldest running international beauty pageant. Miss world beauty pageant was created in United Kingdom by Eric Morley in 1951. After that every year Miss World beauty pageant is organized. Manushi Chhillar is the 67th title holder of Miss World.

Miss World 1966 was won by Reita Faria of India. She was the first Indian and first Asian woman ever to win the Miss World event and first Miss World winner to qualify as a Doctor who won miss world title. She refuses modeling and films and concentrated on her medical studies.

Aishwarya Rai, one of the most beautiful women in the world won the Miss World title in 1994. She is the second to receive the title of Miss World. Diana Hayden – 1997

Diana Hayden won the Femina Miss India contest in 1997 and was also crowned as Miss World 1997. Before starting her career in modeling she worked for an event management company. She becomes the third Indian to win the Miss World Pageant after Reita Faria and Aishwarya Rai.

Yukta Mookhey – 1999

Yukta Mookhey becomes the fourth woman from India to win Miss World title in 1999. On 49th edition of Miss World pageant Yukta Mookhey was crowned as Miss World after beating 99 delegates from other countries. She was also a medical student but choose modeling and acting as carrier.

Priyanka Chopra – 2000

Priyanka Chopra is the fifth woman to win Miss World title. She also selected acting as a career. Priyanka Chopra is one of the India’s highest paid actresses. Along with National Film Awards and five Filmfare Awards she is also honored with Padma Shri Award by Government of India. Forbes listed her among the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women in 2017. She has worked for UNICEF (The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund) and was appointed as the national and global UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Child Rights in 2017 and 2016 respectively. She is also the first South Asian to headline an American Network drama series Quantico.
